I am Dr. Michael Hamarneh, and I have built a distinguished career in behavioral and mental health, with extensive experience across clinical, consulting, and management roles. From October 2016 to July 2024, I served as a Senior Clinical Psychologist with Dubai Health (formerly DHA) and Rashid Hospital. I also worked as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist at Mediclinic, one of the world’s largest privately held healthcare organizations. Throughout my career, I have contributed to various organizations, including hospitals, behavioral health centers, community-based facilities, NGOs, and Managed Care Organizations.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Houston, and a PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Florida. My doctoral work focused on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), multicultural competence, and cross-cultural psychology, culminating in a dissertation on the impact of prejudice and racism. I have been recognized with academic distinctions and honors throughout my educational journey and have been inducted into several National and International Honor Societies.

As a US-educated and trained Consultant Clinical Psychologist, I have significant expertise in clinical and behavioral health psychology, Industrial/Organizational (I/O) psychology, Occupational Stress Management, and Occupational Health and Safety. I am licensed in both the US and UAE by Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) and Dubai Health Authority (DHA). I have a longstanding interest and extensive experience in working with individuals and families from diverse cultural backgrounds, utilizing CBT to provide evidence-based treatments and effective strategies for managing mental health disorders and psychological distress.
